Job Title: Quality Manager

Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and industry standards. This role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality processes supporting manufacturing operations, supplier quality, documentation, training, and auditing. The Quality Manager plays a key role in ensuring all products and documentation meet required specifications and standards prior to customer delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and external audits, including managing corrective actions and follow-up activities
  • Conduct internal audits, document findings, and assign corrective/preventive actions
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001; FAR Part 21/145 a plus)
  • Support engineering investigations and root cause analysis activities
  • Participate in PPAPs, PFMEAs, and development of process flow charts
  • Oversee inspection processes, gage calibration, and inspection stamp control systems
  • Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and monitor supplier performance, including audits and non-conformance tracking
  • Lead resolution of customer and supplier quality issues, including issuing non-conforming material reports (NCMRs)
  • Supervise quality control operations to meet production, cost of quality, and safety goals
  • Provide leadership and direction to inspection and quality staff, including training and development
  • Ensure quality standards across raw materials, in-process production, outside processing, and final products
  • Support contract reviews related to quality clauses (Q-clauses)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems and processes
  • Manage quality-related reporting, documentation, and cross-functional communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of aerospace quality experience and 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards; familiarity with FAR regulations is a plus
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, and Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Experience with PFMEA development and process flow documentation
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles (certification preferred)
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills, with the ability to interface with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in aircraft component testing, teardown, and analysis is preferred
